Part 1: It’s Only Been Two Weeks

=

When I started to write about the initial two weeks of Trump’s 2025 presidency, I quickly realized it was too much to digest in one sitting. To make the information more accessible, I’ve broken it down into a series of shorter posts. Let’s dive in.

In just 13 days, Trump has proven remarkably efficient at dismantling established norms. If you’re surprised by his actions, you haven’t been paying attention. What’s shocking is the speed and precision with which he’s executed his agenda.

Executive Orders: Pretend Policies vs. Real Power Grabs

Trump’s early executive orders fall into two categories: symbolic gestures and substantive moves to consolidate executive power. While many will face legal challenges, their purpose is often served the moment they’re signed. For Trump’s base, the act of signing these orders is enough to earn credit, regardless of their implementation or legal validity. Court battles are seen as victories, not setbacks because the policy itself is secondary to the reaction it provokes.

Flooding the news with a high volume of executive orders serves several strategic purposes. First, it creates the illusion of constant activity, making it appear as though Trump is actively working to fulfill his promises. By carefully coordinating the titles of these orders, they can be framed as direct steps toward achieving his campaign goals, even when many of them merely reiterate those promises without outlining concrete actions or plans to accomplish them. Additionally, the sheer number of orders makes it difficult for the public, media, and even experts to thoroughly track, analyze, or hold them accountable. This approach not only generates a sense of momentum but also obscures the lack of substantive progress behind a flurry of activity.

The Search for unCommon Sense

This series will explore the chaotic landscape of Trump’s presidency, seeking clarity amidst the noise. While the journey may be frustrating and disheartening, there’s also room for humor and perspective. Not everything is as dire as it seems—much of it is just noise.

Let The Adventure Begin: Charting Our Journey

Trump wasted no time, signing a flurry of executive orders aimed at fulfilling campaign promises: cracking down on immigration, lowering inflation, ending foreign wars, increasing oil drilling, and imposing tariffs on allies—all under the guise of fairness.

It’s only been two weeks and many are starting to see that this is not going to be the same, it is going to be far, far worse, and none of it is America First or even resembles patriotism.

As we delve into this, brace yourself—it’s going to get deep. We’ll examine what this new chapter means for our country and its values.
